Men's Bible Study
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But His word was in mine
heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Jude: Beware of False Prophets
Part 2
Jude 1:12-25
This is the second part to the Bible study on the book of Jude. Much of this lesson will not only cover Jude but also have scripture quotes from Jesus and personal questions for
review and study as well. It is important to make sure that we are aware of who is leading us and listen to God. Jesus warns us to help against people who appear as a light-
bringer from God but in reality are leading us into the darkness with Satan.
1.) Name a few of the metaphors Jude uses to describe false prophets ministry.
Jude 1:12-13
2.) What prophecy does Enoch say will happen to false teachers/leaders?
Jude 1:14-15; Genesis 5:18-24
3.) List the actions of the false leaders.
Jude 1:16; 2 Peter 2:18
4.) As a warning, what else did Jude say about false prophets?
Jude 1:17-19; 1 Timothy 4:1-2
5.) What should we do to protect ourselves from false teachers/leaders?
Jude 1:20-23; 2 Timothy 2:14-16; 2 Peter 1:5-7, 10
6.) What does Jude say to end the epistle?
Jude 1:24-25
7.) What warning and metaphor does Jesus give to those who follow Him?
Matthew 7:15-20
8.) According to Jesus, who can be deceived by false prophets?
Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:21-23
9.) What warning does Peter give and where are these people?
2 Peter 2:1-3
10.) Do you believe false (prophets, teachers, leaders) only come from certain beliefs or denominations or can they come from any of them? Explain your answer.
11.) Why would people follow false leadership?
12.) There seems to be an emphasis on TV evangelist as false prophets. Why do you think we have this mindset? Is it real, jealousy, or a mixture of both?
13.) Is it possible for some people to be perceived as a false prophet but in reality doing what God has told them to preach? How can we tell the difference and what would you do
when figuring out who to follow?
14.) What are you going to do guard yourself from following the influence of a false prophet?
Just a Thought
The term used in the Bible when dealing with false leadership is prophets. This is because to them, prophets spoke on behalf of God to the people, whereas priest spoke on
behalf of the people to God. There will be many false prophets or leaders spread throughout every denomination and group. That does not mean that an entire group is wrong
but there will be people within who will lead hundreds to possibly millions away from the Lord. Not everyone who quotes the Bible or looks good is from God. Even Satan, when
trying to tempt Christ quoted scripture (Matthew 4:6; Psalm 91:11). Make sure that whomever you are studying under and what church you attend, that they are in align with how
God is revealing the Bible to you. Your ultimate goal is Heaven and to spread the news about Jesus soon return. Focus on Jesus. Let me say that again, focus on Jesus. This way
no matter who is preaching, singing, teaching, or giving a Word from the Lord you can compare that to the Bible and know if it is from God or people. This goes for everyone.
Even the lessons that I write. Don’t take me for granted or at my word, study for yourself. No person on this earth will decide rather or not you will make it into Heaven. No one.
Make sure you know who your savior and Lord is, Jesus Christ. Not some false prophet.
