Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But His word was in mine
heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Philip’s Mission

Acts 8:26-40

This lesson will cover Phillip’s ministry and how that impact is felt today. The goal is to learn from Philip and how we can apply his example for our lives.

1] There was an issue that was raised in the church. Because of this how did the disciples chose to handle the situation and who were chosen to be a part of this group?
Acts 6:1-9

2] The group mentioned in question 1 are considered your first Deacons. Even now what are some of the work that Deacons and Deaconesses do for the church?

3] Why is it important to have practical as well as spiritual work completed in the church or even in the community?

4] What caused the early church to scatter?
Acts 8:1-3

5] Do to the events mentioned above where did Philip go and what did he do?
Acts 8:4-8

6] The amazing thing is that Philip, like many of the other members, apostles, and disciples did not stop preaching the word of God. Even in tough times, how can we apply these
lessons to our lives? This can be personal and as a church.

7] While in Samaria, what effect did Philip have on the people and a particular sorcerer named Simon?
Acts 8:9-13

8] Where did the Lord tell Philip to go? Was a reason given to him?
Acts 8:26

9] Who did Philip meet on the road and what was the official’s purpose for being there?
Acts 8:27-28

10] What question was the Eunuch having with the Bible verse and what was Philip’s response?
Acts 8:29-35; Isaiah 53:7-8

11] The interesting thought is that Philip started from here to talk about Jesus. Sometimes we want to start people where we fill comfortable instead of where they are. How can we
apply the behavior and practice of Philip to our ministry on a personal and church level?

12] What happened after Philip talked to the man about Jesus?
Acts 8:36-40

To this day millions of Ethiopians are still Christian. They have a variety denominations, no different than our own, but because of Philip’s interaction with a high official; the
message of Jesus still last today. This is something to think about and encourage you to go where God tells you to go. Learn more about Jesus daily. After all you never know
when the Lord might have someone for you to share the message of Jesus to a person desperately searching to know more about Him. Then that interaction could lead hundreds,
thousands, or even millions to Christ. Learn from Philip and be ready to teach or share someone Jesus Christ.
