| The Julian Center will receive proceeds from the novel, When Roses Cry. Abuse is one of the themes that runs through this novel. It is due to the main character, June, who suffers through some of the anguish you will or have read. There is a variety of abuses ranging from physical, sexual, religious, mental, and even neglect. The Julian Center help people who have been through these problems and it is a big reason why they were chosen to receive proceeds and attention. To have a charity like this is important to the community because we live in a time where people are abused and treated unfairly. Places like the Julian Center help provide victims the ability to gain help and change their lives for the better. The Julian Center provides a variety of services for those who are victims of various assaults and abuse. They have safe shelter, advocacy, counseling, and other means to help people.
